Stress Levels

Reminder in these tough times of activities that contribute to levels of stress.

Though the scale mentioned is nearly 50 years old, it is indicative of the issues that create stress.

I am reproducing a portion from the article that is startling.. (read the article for the whole scale)

I can only imagine how many people face tension motherlodes in the bad economy. Consider how many of the items on the list are correlated with a recession:

Fired from work — 47
Business readjustment — 39
Change in financial status — 38
Change to a different line of work — 36
Foreclosure of mortgage or loan

— 30
Change in responsibilities at work — 29
Spouse starts or stops work — 26
Change in living conditions — 25
Revision of personal habits — 24
Trouble with boss — 23
Change in working hours or conditions — 20
Minor mortgage or loan — 17

Score of 300+: At risk of illness.
Score of 150-299+: Risk of illness is moderate (reduced by 30% from the above risk).
Score 150-: Only have a slight risk of illness.

The total of the above is over 350. This assumes mostly work related stress.
